"I dislike that you have to add in a date for every chapter - some of the time it is very helpful, but a lot of the time it is not. Definitely should be optional."Agreed. The date should be optional. Unfortunately this is not easy to implement, but it is listened on the feature request tracker.
"I really wish the export feature would dump all the information! Most importantly, the chapter descriptions. I tend to start with parts, then chapters, then scenes." By version 2.1.4 you can adapt the export reports yourself. However including the chapter description sounds useful to me.
"Also, if I could layer locations it would help. Such as a "Primary" location of "Hina" (Boat name in a current project). Then I want to move Hina to different places and have that as a unique location. Hina - home port. Hina - on the bay. Hina - in the ocean. Etc. Yet, have all the views of Hina no matter where the scene. Either that, or track "things" that can be in locations. This would also help to make sure items have been moved between scenes properly (cars, clothing, etc.)." Having "things" (objects) is already planed. Meanwhile I suggest to handle your boat "Hina" like it was a character and then assign the desired locations.
"scenes over a couple of days should be supported" Makes no sense to me. Just use two different scenes.
"also the characters / locations / etc. - window could support self-described tags, just as Hobby or Room Nr. etc. It would be helpful :)" Yes, would be helpful, but this is a very big job to do and I think there are more important things to do first.
"I haven't found anything yet" Thanks :)
"Grouping characters or locations" Grouping would be useful. I see this for characters (main characters, minor characters). Locations are grouped by country and city (by version 2.1.4), which is not bad, I think.
"OS X version" Yes... See notes on the blog. I'm very sorry, but I cannot force Apple to support Java 6 for 32bit machines.
"A place or a folder or field or file to put pictures about location. Somewhere to create a cartoon about the scenes, like a comic book!" Would be nice, but this is too costly to make. If you want to make a comic book, there is an open source project somewhere that handle this. I've forgotten the link...
"Set of characters" See above.
"Visual Timeline" Definitely a needed feature. If you have a concrete imagination how this could looks like, let me kno |
